My biggest weakness is probably fresh pasta.
Luckily, I didn’t have to travel quite that far – I didn’t even have to leave north London. I was super excited to see they had a fresh gluten free pasta on the menu, made from chickpea flour, at Pasta Remoli in Finsbury Park.
It’s very conveniently located, right next to the station, so you can’t miss it. It has an incredibly relaxed atmosphere, in a very contemporary setting, which is lovely – and exactly what you want when you are about to gorge yourself on a massive bowl of pasta. Perfect comfort food setting, particularly if you are tucked away at the back!
We made ourselves comfortable, and I ordered the gluten free pasta with a creamy mushroom and pancetta sauce.
I opted for a glass of prosecco, and a tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad on the side – they were incredibly generous with their helping of mozzarella, which I thoroughly appreciated (let’s be honest – it’s always the best part of a Caprese salad).
My sister went for the fresh fusilli with cheese sauce, a simple choice, as she is an incredibly fussy and picky eater.
Unlike her older sister, she really isn’t that bothered about food, and has a tiny appetite, and I couldn’t believe it when she was contemplating a second bowl after polishing off her first. High praise indeed!
We decided to split the wild berry and basil pannacotta for dessert, even though we were totally stuffed at this point. It was topped with a thin layer of chocolate, and a fruit compote in the bottom of the mug – this was also delicious – creamy and sweet, while the basil gave it a more sophisticated flavour.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Pasta Remoli, and it is very reasonable for the quality and the amount of food you get! The best part is, you can buy some of the pasta and the sauces separately to take away, meaning that you could always recreate the dish yourself at home!
Many thanks to the team at Pasta Remoli for the awesome service – I’ll definitely be back!
I was invited to Pasta Remoli for complimentary meal for a fair and honest review – all opinions my own.
