Since moving to east London earlier this year, I hadn’t really found anywhere local to get my hair done.
So when the team at Rush Hackney got in touch to see if I’d come along for a cut, treatment and blowdry, I was really excited. I’ve been really neglecting my hair, and especially after a week in Italy it was in need of some TLC.
Rush Hackney is located on Amhurst Road, and is super convenient to get to, just a short walk from Hackney Central.
It’s only been around for a month or so now, and I’d popped in on their first week, but they seem to have a solid set up – the staff were all so friendly, welcoming, funny and charming, and really made me feel comfortable and taken care of.
Getting your hair cut by a new person is always a nerve-wracking experience, but my consultation was thorough, and I felt like my stylist new exactly what I wanted, and what treatment my hair needed, particularly as it gets quite dry on the ends.
I went for a long bob, with some beachy waves put in. I have really thick hair, and stylists usually tend to try and cut layers in, which I didn’t really want – but my stylist really listened to what I wanted.
I was absolutely thrilled with the final cut, and the style – my hair is quite heavy, so curls tend to drop fairly quickly, but she tonged my hair really well and it lasted through the night.
The proof of a good cut is always once you’ve taken it out on the road – and even several weeks later I’m getting compliments on it, which has been fantastic.
I would seriously recommend popping in – there’s a really cute courtyard too!
